CrossTracks
A mobile train puzzle game featuring custom pixel-inspired interface elements, combining 8-bit visual design with practical touchscreen usability.

Introduction
CrossTracks is a mobile puzzle game centred around railway tracks and train movement. I was responsible for designing the in-game user interface, creating a visual style inspired by Minecraft's distinctive blocky aesthetic.
The Challenge
The interface needed to feel like a natural extension of the game's visual identity while remaining easy to use on mobile devices.
The challenge was balancing the character of pixel-inspired graphics with practical considerations such as button clarity, readability and touchscreen interaction.

The Project
I designed custom 8-bit-style buttons and interface elements, establishing a consistent visual language for the game's menus and in-game controls.
The designs drew inspiration from Minecraft's pixel aesthetic while adapting the style to suit CrossTracks' own identity.
I worked closely with the developer to ensure the interface assets could be implemented effectively within the mobile game.
Outcome
Created a cohesive collection of pixel-inspired UI elements, establishing a consistent in-game interface that complements CrossTracks’ visual style.
