Consultation Skills
A bespoke NHS digital learning platform replacing an outdated WordPress website, providing accessible training resources and course management tools for thousands of GP trainees and trainers.

Introduction
Consultation Skills is a digital training platform developed for Health Education England. I was responsible for the UX design and product management of both the learner-facing experience and its administration system, working closely with developers and healthcare stakeholders.
The Challenge
The existing training website was built using WordPress and had become slow, restrictive and heavily dependent on standard functionality. The organisation needed a custom platform that could provide a better learning experience while making course administration easier.
Accessibility was also a key consideration, particularly around colour, readability and designing an interface suitable for autistic users.

The Project
I designed the user experience for the learning platform, allowing authorised NHS users to access courses and training materials through a clear, structured interface.
I also designed the administration system, giving staff the ability to manage courses and learning content without relying on the previous WordPress setup.
Throughout the project, I applied inclusive design considerations to the interface and coordinated development, working with stakeholders to ensure the platform met both technical requirements and the needs of its users.
Outcome
The bespoke platform successfully replaced the previous WordPress website and is now used daily by thousands of GP trainees and trainers across the NHS.
